YOUNG MUSICIANS FROM SERBIA ARE PLAYING WITH THEIR NORWEGIAN COLLEAGUES AT THE PRESTIGIOUS JAZZ FESTIVAL IN NORWAY
By the ask of the prestigious Scandinavian Jazz festival http://jazzfest.no/ Jovan Pavlovic (leader of Tutti Serbia http://www.tuttiserbia.rs/) will arrange the music of, throughout the history, one of the most popular pop bands “Knudsen og Ludvigsen”.
Jovan will arrange music for a college jazz orchestra NTNU university of Trondheim. The project is named “Jovan Pavlovic vs Knudsen&Ludvigsen with NTNU Jazz orchestra” http://jazzfest.no/event/ntnus-superlordag-jovan-pavlovic-vs-knudsen-og-ludvigsen-m-ntnu-jazzensemble/
Ernst Wiggo Sandbakk, the director of the festival, and Jovan came across the idea to invite two most talented young jazz musicians from Serbia to be a part of this project.
Ernst Wiggo and Jovan will be in Belgrade from 18th to 21th of March, in order to meet and hear a few most talented musicians and to decide which musicians are going to participate in the festival in Norway.
Jovan says that the main purpose of this visit is to bring together Serbian and Norwegian youth, with this project that holds up a great artistic level.
Jovan explained that Tutti Serbia along with Trondheim jazz festival invited greatly talented young jazz musicians from Serbia.
-Last year our organization hosted 25 students and professors from Jazz university of Trondheim. The program was filled with good music and students were playing with our best musicians in some of the most popular jazz venues in Belgrade.
Also, they had a chance to meet students from jazz department of Music Academy in Belgrade and Novi Sad.
This visit to Serbia has left a strong impression on students from Norway and most of them wish to come back and visit us again, what makes us very proud and pleased – Jovan explains.
- I think it is very important that young people from Serbia get a chance to travel and meet young people from Norway, and thus they have the opportunity to gain an important experience in music and life in general.
Tutti Serbia is trying to make these visits between two countries a tradition, and through this kind projects we want to build stronger connections and greater friendship between Norway and Serbia.
